Deep-fried Oysters

Deep-fried oysters . True oysters belong to the mollusk family , along with clams , mussels and scallops . Oysters , not to be confused with pearl oysters , are found throughout the world’s oceans , usually in shallow waters and in large colonies called beds or reefs . Oysters have been surprisingly rewarded with oyster’s delicate texture and rich flavor . These shellfish are commonly served raw as appetizers , smoked and canned , or breaded and deep-fried . In all these preparations , oysters offer several important nutrients the body needs . Oysters are also high in calcium , iron , and protein . Choosing the right variety will help you reap the mollusks benefits without a lot of added fat and calories . Admittedly , they are not for everyone , but adventurous humans all over the world have enjoyed oysters , raw and cooked , for thousands of years . Oysters have been an important food since the Neolithic period and were cultivated long before the Christian Era . The Greeks served them with wine and the Romans were so enthusiastic about these marvelous mollusks that they sent thousands of slaves to the shores of the English Channel to gather them .
We have many different ways to eat oysters . However , our favorite is deep-fried oysters we offer daily . There’s something very gratifying about biting through the crisp outer crust into the tender center of a fried oyster . It’s a great moment when your ears hear the crispy crust cracking as it gives way , your mouth is flooded with the briny juices from the oyster , and your nostrils fill with the smell of a salty ocean breeze !
The distinctive creamy oyster flavor is enclosed inside a hot and crunchy outer layer ….. Yum!!! You can just squeeze some lemon juice on top if you want , but we recommend that you have them with tartar or cocktail sauces . Try this next time you are at Seafood World ! Here you could find lightly dusted in seasoned flour and deep fried . Served with steamed vegetables or French fries . While you could pop these all day long with a splash of lemon juice , they are also great on salads . At Seafood World these oysters are perfect on their own or over a salad which you make yourself at our salad bar . Worcestershire sauce is also a good accompaniment . We invite you to try it out today !
